Kate Henshaw Joins Race To House Of Representatives 2015

Kate Henshaw is considered to be one of the most talented actresses in Nigeria, which was why her family and friends were shocked to hear of her intentions to run for office in Rivers State, where she’s from. In an interview she had with Weekend Magazine, she revealed some things about her career. Enjoy!
Weekend Magazine: How did your family and friends respond when you said you wanted to become a politician?

Kate Henshaw: My mum said ‘no way’. I told her to pray for me and she said she wasn’t going to, so I told her I’d pray for myself. Some cousins of mine in Calabar then called her and told her to encourage me, that what I want to do is good. She told them someone else should go into it, and they asked her why someone else should. They told her I should do it because it would be good for the state. She finally agreed.

Friends have also been supportive. They say I’m strong. They also say this is my kind of thing because I fight for people. But they advised me to be careful …

FRAUD ALERT! Federal Government Scholarship Application Is NOT Ongoing

Good day esteemed readers. As I was walking past the Notice Board in Awolowo Hall this morning (13th November, 2014), I saw a notice been pasted that anyone interested in applying for the Federal Government Scholarship should send their details to a particular e-mail address ( I don't really know what the person is up to but I sense fraud.
The yearly scholarship scheme been operated by the Federal Government of Nigeria which the poster alleges he/she is assisting people with had closed since July, 2014 and the minimum requirement for application is a 3.5 CGPA on a 5 point scale as against the 2.5 he publicized. For further clarity, the Scholarship is not opened to Part 1 students as he/she claims. The person really designed the notice paper to mimic the usual way the school management reaches out to the public just to deceive innocent readers.
Please be careful not to fall for this cheap trap as I observed same poster in Angola Hall and other Halls of Residenc…

New OAU Pre-Degree Fee Is Extortionate And Unacceptable -ERC

Press Statement of the Education Rights Campaign(ERC) OAU Branch.
NEW OAU PRE-DEGREE FEE IS EXTORTIONATE AND UNACCEPTABLEThe Obafemi Awolowo University (OAU) Ile-Ife management recently announced a new, but outrageous fee regime for her pre-degree programme. Under this new fee arrangement, the male candidates admitted for the pre-degree programme are expected to pay N177, 500 while the female candidates pay N212, 500 before starting online registration as students. The female students are paying more as a result of hostel accommodation charge.
The Education Rights Campaign (ERC) totally condemns this fee regime and demands its immediate reversal. We call on the OAU Students’ Union, staff unions, civil society groups and Nigerian workers and parents to jointly reject this mass-scale extortion. This new fee was an inconsiderate leap from the exorbitant N152, 500, which students in this programme paid last session. There is no reason for this hike other than the quest by the university to…
