OAU Post-UTME Registration Commences on the 5th of October 2020

By  Ganiyu Ayanniyi The Obafemi Awolowo University (OAU), Ile-Ife is set to start Post-Unified Tertiary Matriculation Examination (PUTME) registration on the 5th of October, 2020 for Jamb candidates who picked the institution as their first as well as for Direct Entry (DE) applicants. The registration form which is obtainable via the school portal ( at the amount of N2,000 is expected to close on the 31st of October, 2020.
After the payment for the registration form which would require generating Remita Retrieval Reference (RRR) number from the school portal, there will be need to authenticate the payment.
It is to be noted that the Post-UTME screening will be strictly observed under the guidelines as released by the Nigeria Centre for Disease Control (NCDC) at the following centres: a) JAMB CBT Centre, Bwari b) Obafemi Awolowo University (OAU), Ile-Ife.

JCIN OAU Donates Modernized Well To Agbogbo Community

On Sunday February 14, 2016, the entire populace of Agbogbo community in Ile-Ife was in a joyous mood as a new modernized well was commissioned in the village. The modernized well which was constructed by Junior Chamber International OAU Chapter was a project that has been on for some months now, the project which was tagged 'BetterLifeWithWater' was finally commissioned on Sunday.

Agbogbo community is a typical example of a rural area which lacks basic amenities (such as electricity, potable water, good road et.c.) for the survival of the villagers. Speaking to OAU Peeps News Agency correspondent, the Vice President (Project) of the organization, Adepoju Adedamola said the water project was executed after due consultation with villagers who told her that portable water tops their priority. She said the project is one of the voluntary projects the organization execute to benefit humanity.

The organizers of #ProjectLetGo Season 2 are asking a singular question; Why don't you just let go?

Come this Saturday, February 20, 2016, JaniCuts Fashion house, House of TNT, Prendoza, House of Annie Oti and some other organizers will be hosting students of Obafemi Awolowo University at Pit Theartre by 10am in a seminar-donation event which will see many youth leaders speak before the commencement of the exchange at same venue.

Speakers at the event include; Matthew Ojo (Dream Coach, Author, Musician), Igba Joshua (CEO, Neonatar Media), Abimbola Akinsanya (OAP, Convener of Bimbo and Friends), Adegbulugbe Folajimi (CEO, Jo Pizza Company and Chef), Olabode Emmanuel Olawumi (Creative Director, OYA Magazine) and Dumebi Ezar Ehigiator (Child Educator, School Media Speciatlist, Library Consultant and Author).

OAUTH Doctors Join Osun Colleagues In Solidarity Strike

Resident doctors as well as consultants working with the Obafemi Awolowo University Teaching Hospital, Ile Ife will join their  colleagues in the employ of the Osun State Government in solidarity  strike as from next Wednesday.Doctors working with all the local government councils in the state will also join the strike from the same day  and the solidarity strike will end on Friday.The announcement of the solidarity strike by the OAUTH doctors and local government doctors is contained a a communique signed by the Chairman of the Nigeria Medical Association in Osun State, Dr. Suraj Ogunyemi and Secretary, Dr. Adeola Ajibare. FG Sacks 13 University Vice Chancellors

The Federal Government of Nigeria has sacked Vice Chancellors (VC) of 12 Federal Universities that were established by the administration of former President Goodluck Jonathan.Also affected by the sack is the Vice Chancellor of the National Open University of Nigeria (NOUN), Professor Vincent Tenebe.A statement on Sunday by the Minister of Education, Mr Adamu Adamu, did not give any reason for the sacking of the affected Vice Chancellors but simply said that President Muahammadu Buhari has approved the appointment of new Vice Chancellors for the affected universities with effect from February 12, 2016According to the statement, the VC of NOUN, Professor Tenebe, was replaced with Professor Abdalla Uba Adamu of the Department of Mass Communication, Bayero University, Kano, while the substantive VC of the Federal University, Dutse, Jigawa State, Professor Mohammed Kundiri, was transferred to the Federal University, Wukari, Taraba State.A former Head, Department of International Relations…
