Man O' War Club Member Beats Student, Club Bags Suspension

Following the drama that ensued on Wednesday, 17th August 2016 at the Fajuyi Hall of the Obafemi Awolowo University, where acting executives of the Hall were allegedly assaulted by a member of the Man O' War club of the institution, the executives of the hall have come out with a statement claiming that the club has been suspended indefinitely by the University Authorities.
The scuffle was said to have resulted from an attempt of the executives to help recover a  soccer ball that was mistakenly kicked into the fenced training ground of the club behind the Hall of Residence. However, considering the alleged claim that the Man O' War Club of the Obafemi Awolowo University, Ile-…

Graduating students of Obafemi Awolowo University – those that completed their studies during the 2014/2015 session are required to validate their JAMB registration number.
According to our impeccable sources at the Division of Student Affairs (DSA), those that were admitted through the Predegree programme or Direct Entry are required to put down their details at the DSA office. The details collected from those affected include their name, JAMB registration number, Date of Birth and Matric number.

The facility to validate the JAMB registration number was said to be available on JAMB website, but a check by OAU Peeps News Agency correspondents shows that it is defunct. None of the affected students have been able to do the validation themselves. As at Wednesday, August 17, many of the graduating students were at the DSA office for the purpose and those that are far away from Ife were able to still put down their details by proxy.

On whether or not those that finished last session wil…

The University Will Release Statement On Admission In Two Weeks Time – Professor Olayinka

The Vice Chancellor of University of Ibadan (UI), Professor Idowu Olayinka has said the delay in advertising the procedure for the 2016/2017 admission process is due to the uncertainty from the Joint Admission and Matriculation Board (JAMB).

Fielding questions from the correspondents of the Union of Campus Journalists, UI, Professor Olayinka spoke extensively on the awaited admission process.

“In the next two weeks maximum. The problem is we don’t want to make a policy and then tomorrow, the government comes up with something else,” Prof. Olayinka said as he mentioned that the University authorities were monitoring the moves of the new Registrar of Joint Admission and Matriculation Board (JAMB) whether he would reverse the decision of his predecessor.

The UI VC decried the policy of JAMB which stopped universities from conducting Post – Unified Tertiary Matriculation Examination (Post UTME) which he said had over the years improved the quality of students being admitted into the Uni…
