2017/2018 SESSION FEES PAYMENT GUIDE FOR FIRST YEAR STUDENTS 1. The University is aware of some unscrupulous elements spreading false information advising new students to travel down to the OAU Campus at Ile-Ife, Osun State to make their payments using fees collection agents. Any such persons or agents should be reported to the central security post on campus.

JAC Strike Beats Harder As Major Roads On OAU Campus Blocked

The Obafemi Awolowo University Joint Action Committee, JAC, of Senior Staff Association of Nigerian Universities, SSANU; Non-Academic Staff Union of Universities, NASU; and the National Association of Academic Technologists, NAAT strike which  began last year  have turned  total and comprehensive yesterday immediately the students of the institution ended their Rain semester examinations last week..

As at the time of filing this report, major roads on OAU Campus have been blocked thereby restricting vehicular movement.

OAU’s ASUU Pulls Out Of National Body

The local branch of the Academic Staff Union of Universities of Obafemi Awolowo University (ASUU-OAU) has pulled out of the national body.

It also formed a new association, following prolonged faceoff between the national and local chapter of the union.

The OAU chapter’s decision to pull out of the national body was taken at a congress on February 12, which rejected the resolutions of ASUU’s National Executive Council (ASUU-NEC) meeting on the face-off between it and the parent body.

It was learnt that the congress decided “to constitute itself into a branch that is totally independent of NEC, adopt appropriate name and open a new branch account for the check-off dues of its members in this regards”.

This is contained in the local branch’s resolution signed by the chairman of its caretaker committee, Dr Niyi Sunmonu.

Last years, 732 of the 1,371 OAU academic workers wrote the university management to stop payment of their check-off dues to the national body in protest against the way…

Admission into the JUPEB Programme 2018/2019 Session

Applications are hereby invited from suitably qualified candidates for admission into Joint Universities Preliminary Examinations Board (JUPEB) programme for 2018/2019 Session.
Eligibility

Eligible Candidates must possess minimum of 5 Credits at maximum of two sittings in at least 5 subjects (inclusive of English Language) relevant to the candidates desired course of study in the University.

The Programme leads to the award of JUPEB Certificate which enables candidate gain Direct Entry admissions into Obafemi Awolowo University and other Universities in Nigeria.

Duration

The duration of the Programme is a minimum of one academic session of two Semesters.

Method of Application

Pay the Application fee of ₦15,000.00 through e-Tranzact Payment Platform at any branch of First Bank, Skye Bank, Wema Bank or UBA Plc Nationwide. 2018 UTME:JAMB to conduct Mock Test On Feb 26

The Joint Admissions and Matriculation Board (JAMB) on Sunday said the much anticipated conduct of the 2018 Mock Unified Tertiary Matriculation Examination (UTME) would now hold on Feb. 26

The board’s Head, Media and Information, Dr Fabian Benjamin said this in an interview in Lagos.

According to him, a total of 245,753 of the 1,652,795 candidates that registered for this year’s UTME are expected to write the test.

“We are happy to announce to the public that the board has concluded arrangement for the conduct of the mock UTME, slated for Monday, February 26

“This is irrespective of the ongoing strike embarked upon by members of non-academic unions of federal universities nation wide.

“Candidates will soon be informed on when to print notifications for the examination and in addition, notifications will be sent through e-mails and text messages on the schedules of their examination,” Benjamin said.
