OAU Post-UTME Registration Commences on the 5th of October 2020

By  Ganiyu Ayanniyi The Obafemi Awolowo University (OAU), Ile-Ife is set to start Post-Unified Tertiary Matriculation Examination (PUTME) registration on the 5th of October, 2020 for Jamb candidates who picked the institution as their first as well as for Direct Entry (DE) applicants. The registration form which is obtainable via the school portal ( at the amount of N2,000 is expected to close on the 31st of October, 2020.
After the payment for the registration form which would require generating Remita Retrieval Reference (RRR) number from the school portal, there will be need to authenticate the payment.
It is to be noted that the Post-UTME screening will be strictly observed under the guidelines as released by the Nigeria Centre for Disease Control (NCDC) at the following centres: a) JAMB CBT Centre, Bwari b) Obafemi Awolowo University (OAU), Ile-Ife.

SSANU, NASU, NAAT To Resume Indefinite Strike Next Week

NON-academic staff in the nation’s universities under the auspices of Senior Staff Association of Nigerian Universities (SSANU), National Association of Academic Technologist (NATT) and Non-Academic Staff Union (NASU) on Wednesday, threatened to resume indefinite strike action over the failure of the Federal Government to honour the agreement reached with the unions. Speaking on the planned strike, the Chairman of Joint Action Committee (JAC), at the Federal University of Technology, Akure (FUTA), Mr Dele Durojaye, said the industrial action by the union may commence next week.

According to Durojaye, the strike action became imperative because of the failure of the Federal Government to honour its pact in the agreement reached with the unions five weeks ago.

The unions had embarked on strike action September last year in order to demand the implementation of the National Industrial Court judgment on the issue of university staff school teachers, payment of earned allowances, payment …

Osun State Revenue Agency Seals OAU Over 1.8 Billion Tax Debt

The Osun State Internal Revenue Service (OIRS) has shut down the Obafemi Awolowo University (OAU), Ile-Ife, over an alleged non payment of taxes worth  N1.844,770,939.45 to the agency.

The institution was shut by officials of the Revenue Task Force who arrived the campus at about 7:00 on Wednesday morning, May 2,2018

The team was led by Mr Oladipo Babatunde, sealed the Senate building, the administrative block and the bursary,the main gate and Road seven of Quarters but the lecture rooms and hostels were said to have been left untouched by the tax collectors.

The closure of OAU and other establishments in the state followed the expiration of the seven-day ultimatum issued to all affected establishments by the state government.

Mr Babatunde revealed  they had no choice than to seal  since the OAU  management   has refused to meet up with the deadline given to them.

NANCE: Campus Editors Hold Summit In Grand Style

The National Association of Nigerian Campus Editors held her annual campus editors summit between 26th and 28th of April, 2018 at Ogun State Institute of Technology, Igbesa.

The summit had in attendance delegates from different Nigerian institution.

The Editor In Chief of, Mike Ikenwa took the participants a three-day workshop which involved cooperative discussions and opportunities to share perspective on issues related to journalism.

Also, Sodiq Oyeleke, a reporter with Punch Newspaper taught the participants on the core elements journalism and ways of avoiding being victimised by the university authorities which has become so rampant in Nigerian institution.

Mojeed Alabi of New Telegraph Newspaper, however challenged the students Journalists to do beyond reporting but rather focus on developmental stories that will expose the ills and odds of the society for a positive change.
