OAU Post-UTME Registration Commences on the 5th of October 2020

By  Ganiyu Ayanniyi The Obafemi Awolowo University (OAU), Ile-Ife is set to start Post-Unified Tertiary Matriculation Examination (PUTME) registration on the 5th of October, 2020 for Jamb candidates who picked the institution as their first as well as for Direct Entry (DE) applicants. The registration form which is obtainable via the school portal (admission.oauife.edu.ng) at the amount of N2,000 is expected to close on the 31st of October, 2020.
After the payment for the registration form which would require generating Remita Retrieval Reference (RRR) number from the school portal, there will be need to authenticate the payment.
It is to be noted that the Post-UTME screening will be strictly observed under the guidelines as released by the Nigeria Centre for Disease Control (NCDC) at the following centres: a) JAMB CBT Centre, Bwari b) Obafemi Awolowo University (OAU), Ile-Ife.

Shittu’s Suit: Court Grants NYSC’s Application Inviting OAU

Justice P.I. Ajoku of the Federal High Court in Ibadan has granted the prayer of the NYSC to bring in Obafemi Awolowo University (OAU) as a joinder in a suit instituted by the immediate past Communication Minister, Mr. Adebayo Shittu, against the corps. The News Agency of Nigeria (NAN) reports that Shittu had in December 2018 told the court that the NYSC was basically responsible for why he did not participate in the compulsory one year service after his graduation. The former minister was a graduate of the then University of Ife, now OAU. Shittu, through his counsel, Mr. Muktar Aderogba, had informed the court that the NYSC did not issue him a call up letter which was mandatory for any higher institution graduate. The defence counsel, Mr O.B. Omuru, had tendered an application seeking to have OAU as a joinder since it was the institution where Shittu graduated from.
